My Ideas for Winters

As a small business owner, I understand the challenges and opportunities local businesses face. I believe it's essential to support the businesses that already call Winters home while welcoming new businesses that align with the community's vision and values. I want to promote a vibrant downtown where residents and visitors can shop, dine, and gather, while protecting the charm and small-town character that make Winters special.

With more than 20 years of experience providing in-home care, I will bring compassion and understanding to local decision-making. I will advocate for services and programs that help seniors age with dignity while supporting people with disabilities and other vulnerable residents. I will fight for a dedicated senior center. Additionally, I will work to ensure that residents are aware of the resources and programs available to them.

I understand that housing is one of the biggest challenges facing Winters. I believe the city should plan for smart, responsible growth by ensuring infrastructure, schools, and public services keep pace with development. I support improving traffic safety, walkability, bicycle connections, parks, sports fields, and green spaces as the community grows. I am committed to making decisions based on community input, transparent leadership, and protecting the agricultural heritage and natural beauty that define Winters.

Safe and reliable water is one of the most pressing issues in Winters. In 2024, the California State Water Board reduced the allowed proportion of chromium-6 in drinking water, and Winters' current levels are above the state’s new allowed level. I am committed to working with city staff, state leaders, and regional partners to identify practical, long-term solutions that bring Winters into compliance and ensure a safe and reliable water supply.

I believe a strong community is built through meaningful relationships. My own experiences have driven me to believe Winters should continue working to build more and stronger partnerships within the community. I am committed to strengthening partnerships between residents, local businesses, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations. I will support events and programs that bring people together, celebrate what makes Winters unique, and create more opportunities for neighbors to connect, volunteer, and become involved in the community.
